The basic controls of moving, jumping and bashing blocks all remain the same however New Super Mario Bros Wii introduces the use of motion control and analogue sticks. The player will enter the game with four characters Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Peach. To start a game the player will begin with a default of thirty lives, which can be increased depending on the setting chosen when creating the game.
